Refugees and recruits pour through the gates faster than the city can rebuild. Its people need food, protection, and a reason to trust the monsters who drove out their former rulers. Meanwhile, Vallyrian agents are striking from inside the walls, and the Collective is preparing to reclaim what it lost.

Slate has no intention of waiting for a siege. He’ll forge the Scourge into an army that can fight without him, seek allies beyond the Wyldwood, and carry the war into enemy territory. Every victory brings new evolutions and more ground to defend.

But the Collective is learning how he fights. It has soldiers, living weapons, and a commander ready to use them both. If Slate wants Bastion to survive, he must build something that can endure after the battle ends.
